Review by hotel critic
Na Bolom in San Cristobal, a charming gem, offers a blend of rustic elegance and cultural immersion. Staying here for a week, I found the room comfortable and immaculate—cleaned daily by attentive staff. The lack of Wi-Fi in the room initially seemed an inconvenience, but it encouraged engaging with other guests in the cozy restaurant area, which provided a delightful breakfast of local and Mexican favorites each morning. With plantation-style gardens and two picturesque courtyards, the hotel creates a serene atmosphere far from city noise. Nights can get chilly, yet the daily replenishment of firewood for the cozy fireplace kept our experience warm. It’s affordable considering the unique cultural connection it fosters, especially through daily interactions with Tzotzil Indigenous craftspeople. For those seeking luxury alongside value, Na Bolom is certainly worth the investment.
